Château Beau Soleil
Classification: Grand Cru
Château Beau Soleil is a tiny estate consisting of several small parcels of vines in the vicinity of Château La Croix de Casse and was in the hands of the Audy Aucaute family (owners of Château Clinet) until the property was taken over by Thierry Rustmann and his wife Lorraine in 1999. Lorraine is the owner of Chateau Talbot in Saint Julien and Thierry manages Chateau Sénéjac, in Medoc. Their first vintage in 2005 was made with the former team headed by Anne Marie Audy, and ensures a beautiful continuity in the quality and the style of this delicious Pomerol.
Beau Soleil's vineyards cover 8.6 acres and the soils consist of old sands and a subsoil of clay (Crasse de Fer). The grapes grown are 90
% Merlot and 10 % Cabernet Franc and the average age is 40 years old.
Wine Style
The wines of Beau Soleil are creamily smooth, dense and well structured with soft plum, blackcurrant, toast, liquorice and chocolate flavours. They are classically Pomerol and age well.
